================================ The New Year has begun And it is time for the Dallas County Democratice
Party to re-take our county! We look to
the year 2010 with great anticipation as our leadership continues to work to expand our office holdings in Dallas County.
We have an opportunity to tip the scales in the commissioner’s court toward a more favorable and cooperative body for
our esteemed Sheriff, Lupe Valdez, and our nationally recognized county prosecutor, District Attorney Craig Watkins.Additionally we have an opportunity
to make our court system more Democratic as more and more bench seats are being sought by bona fide Democrats. We are seeing
some Republican constable and JP seats as more vulnerable, thanks to the antics of the current holders of these offices. There is a major push to gain
more seats in the state houses as well. A majority of Democrats in the State legislative body will make it easier to return
the state back to the people who were disenfranchised by the gerrymandering of districts by the Republican Party to block
out their voices.We
are seeing some very promising candidates to occupy the governor’s mansion and some possible candidates to retake one
of our US Senate seats. We
want to express our gratitude to Sen. Hutcheson ending her reign of thoughtless right wing oppression on the working people
of this state. 2010 promises to be a year of
hope as we Democrats once again proclaim: YES WE CAN!! ====================================
Fighting
for a place So the new Senator is a Republican and many are rejoicing because that (may) mean
an end to health care reform. Sorry to all of you out there who don’t have health care or are about
to lose it…… Easy to say……. From the beginning of history we have seen the struggle
between those who don’t need because they have and those who do need because they don’t have. Any
one or any group who tries to help those who are fighting for a place at the table of life learn soon enough that
it is a never ending and often frustrating battle. In theory, it is easy for one to step down from his place of
stature, but nearly impossible for one to step up from his place below it. The king may assume the role of the
peasant, but the peasant cannot assume the role of the king. The question to ask is, “Do I have so I may give or do I
have so I may have?". Webmaster

=========================================== Contribute a commentary: See
our commentary page! As the Obama Administration continues to take shape and his personal touch is being seen with
greater clarity, news commentators are beginning to, more and more, dissect his actions and pass judgements on them. This
is as it should be. (The fact that a radio personality who makes his living saying outlandish things is being considered the
"Spokesperson" for the Republican Party gives one pause, however) Commentators and analysts are also pointing
out the fact that some "liberal" group or other assumed to be on Obama's side do not always agree with the President's
decisions. So here is a question for all of you Democrats out there. Is it okay to be
a True Blue Democrat and disagree at times with the Presidents policy or direction on some issues. And, if it is okay, what
do you do about it? Our organization will publish your comments on our editorial page. We may need to edit for length and grammar, but your responses will be published if
possible. We will not shy away from controversy. E-Mail your anwers to our email address below and you may see it on the web.
